About me

Marcus Spruiell, widely known as Fatman, is a music producer and artist born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. As the middle child among 16 siblings, Marcus grew up in a community heavily impacted by the crack epidemic and entered the care of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) at an early age. These early life challenges shaped his resilience and fueled his determination to create a better future.

After graduating high school, Marcus attended Northern Illinois University. In his second year, he made the pivotal decision to leave college and fully commit to his passion for music production. That leap of faith paid off—he has since built a thriving career in the music industry, earning two platinum records and two gold records. Marcus is currently signed to Empire Records and continues to elevate his sound and legacy through every project he touches.
